Taz is walking all over the place! His staples are out, and he likes to walk around the rooms, but he still has an old-man's hunched over posture---the surgeon says that's the last thing to fix itself. his legs are also weak, due to lack of much use for 2+ weeks. He kinda stands sometimes like a drunk: wobbly. This Friday, he starts therapy---swimming to strengthen his legs back. The surgeon says he's 3 to 4 weeks ahead of schedule!

Well, after a week of pampering, Taz developed the incredible skill of being able to lick the incision at the center of his spine and lick several staples loose (surgeon said Taz is the first dog he's ever seen twist enough to do that). Sooo, the little guy is now wearing a "onesie", made for babies 6-9 months old---amounts to a t-shirt (no way can he lick through the shirt). Other than a reluctance to walk much yet (he CAN, if there's a treat waiting for him), he seems to be doing fine---with some new staples, antibiotics, and T.L.C.

Radar, kidney stones...Beethoven, cancer...Nefertari, diabetes and multiple liver diseases...Alexander, kidney failure...and last night, Taz had a ruptured disk, resulting in paralysis of both back legs---what the heck is going on???!!!
Taz had surgery today and we hope for total recovery (after several weeks of being carried around and pampered)

I lost Neffi last weekend...Now I have to pray for Alexander. He seems great in every way, with no signs of any problems, EXCEPT for losing weight...He's down from 14.5 pounds 2 or 3 years ago, to 9.6 pounds last week. We gotta find out what's going on, so he gets an echo-cardiogram and a kidney ultrasound Tuesday. Only other casualty in my house is my budget: totally blasted.

Neffi is better, but slowly. She's got lots more energy and actually jumped/climbed up on to my lap. Now I gotta get her bathed and spiffed up (after we stabilize her glucose level), 'cause anyone knows a girl feels better when she knows she looks better...

Beethoven actually gained a whole half pound last week---that makes one and one-fourth in 4 weeks (from 8.8 to 10.3), so he really IS on his way---now the question is, will the two more months of chemo pills actually permanently kill his cancer? He sure is full of pep right now!

I am really gonna miss my seniors---I'm praying they do well on their IB History tests...I won't see them again until they've taken them...
